Registrant Resources

This page contains information and links for registrants interested in participating in IR-4 environmental horticulture research projects. The Annual Cycle and Timeline includes activities occurring throughout the year by month. The Protocol Search pulls current and historical protocols. We’ve also included guidance on how to Acknowledge funding through the IR-4 Project when research results are used in print and online media nd provided a download of our logo that can be included in presentations.

Annual Cycle and Timeline

October
Protocol development for the next year starts. If IR-4 research priorities align with new active ingredients and current product expansions, this is the time to begin planning treatment rates and timings. This is also the time to ensure IR-4 has up to date information on crops for screening crop safety with new active ingredients and recently registered products.

November
Researcher Selection Portal is open until the end of the month with the new crop safety trials and efficacy projects for the following year. Protocol development continues.

December through January
IR-4 assignment of trials for the following year occurs and database is updated. This is the time to view IR-4 research plans and request specific supplements. Protocol refinements occur.

February through March
Researchers are notified of the research plan and begin sourcing plants from local growers and active ingredients/products from registrants.

April through September (and beyond)
Experiments are implemented, data collected, and research reports written and submitted. Project summaries are written based on these reports and distributed to registrants and posted to the website. In odd-numbered years preparations for the biennial workshop occur and handouts distributed.

Protocols

To find crop safety protocols and efficacy protocols, select the year of the protocol in the drop down box below and then click on the Next button. The protocols will be organized by discipline. They can be sorted alphanumerically by clicking on the column headers in each table.
