Meeting Description & Agenda

The IR-4 Education and Training Committee (E&TC) is constructing the agenda for NEC 2020, and the finished product will be available in Feb. before the conference. The following are some highlights of what to expect in San Diego, based on current content of the DRAFT agenda (bring any questions you have – this is a perfect venue to get answers that likely will benefit many!)

  • On Tues. 2/25 from 8 a.m.-noon will be a “Commercial” GLP training opportunity for IR-4 “Newbies” and “Vets” (no extra fee required), provided by Debi Garvin, Pacific Rim GLP Training & Consulting (“GLP Essentials for Technical Staff”); topics will include study personnel responsibilities, training records/CVs, all about raw data, study conduct, SOP requirements, prepping for EPA inspections, etc.
  • The rest of the day 2/25 will include a “State of IR-4” address by Exec. Director Jerry Baron; more guidance regarding EPA inspections; a multi-presenter session on “The IR-4 Process, from new PCR to labeled use;” and an evening reception.
  • On Wed am 2/26, there will be sessions for lab personnel (topics such as e-QA, handling difficult matrices, the latest in method development and issues/perspectives on data quality), separate from FRDs (topics such as FDB Review Comm. update, 2020 protocol/FDB changes, QA/QC responsibilities, panel discussions and roundtable sessions on multiple topics of interest.
  • Wed pm will include Regional Field breakout sessions, simultaneous with a separate Lab group discussion on data quality issues (with SDs, QA, Testing Facility Management and PMC); all will then convene in a final General Session and hear from various researchers throughout IR-4 about “Tricks of the Trade” and other personal items.
